I enjoyed having dinner at J.R. Mahon's. I got the Chowder Soup and the Hake Dinner. Both were excellent. The bartender who waited on me provided great service, as well. He also gave me some suggestions on places to go in Kilkenny, which was where I was going the next day. I went to the Left Bank down there and that was great also.
The perfect pub. We spent a few days in Dublin and visited lots of fantastic places. This was best of all. The bar is beautiful, lots of wood and light, friendly and relaxed. We spent new years eve here, then came back for food on the Tuesday. We sat at the bar and were well looked after by Ronan. What a lovely guy. The fish chowder was excellent and so was the cheesecake. Can't wait to visit again.
We popped in for lunch, the atmosphere is amazing. Very traditional setting, worth coming in for a pint alone. I had the fish and chips and my girlfriend had the Guinness Beef Stew. Both were fantastic, so Good! Would for sure come again!
